World’s Longest Bridge

The Qingdao Haiwan Bridge is the world’s longest bridge. The bridge links Chinese cities Qingdao with Huangdao and at 26.4 miles long extends far enough to run a full marathon on.

The Qingdao Haiwan Bridge took four years and 10,000 workers to complete. It cost more than $8 billion to construct. The previous record-holder is the Louisiana’s Lake Pontchartrain Causeway and it is three miles shorter.

The bridge opens later this year and 30,000 cars per day will traverse it’s 6 lanes.
