Velcro was invented by who?

Velcro was invented in 1948 by Swiss engineer, George de Mestral who lived in Commugny, Switzerland. The idea for Velcro came to him one day after returning from a hunting trip with his dog in the Alps. The idea for Velcro came from burrs in his dog’s fur. The burrs stuck to his clothes and his dog.
