This bird was spotted at 27,000 feet, higher than any other bird on record. The whooper swan is the highest flying bird. A flock of these birds was spotted by a pilot and picked up on radar at that altitude in 1967.

    There is a record of a bird strike at 37000 feet in Africa probably also the highest recorded altitude.
